Ten Questions for Peter White !
1. How old were you when you first started playing guitar?
I started playing the recorder at 5 years old, the piano at 6 years old, the guitar around 9 years old, the harmonica at 11 years old and the accordion at 23 years old. I still play all these instruments today on a regular basis!
2. Who was/is your biggest musical inspiration?
The Beatles! When I saw the film of the Beatles at Shea Stadium in 1966 I was 11. It was the most exciting thing I had ever seen and I knew I wanted to be part of that life. The life of a musician.
3. Where do you make your home?
Los Angeles CA
4. Do you have any pets?
My cat Booboo
5. What is the best concert/gig you have ever done?
Ha ha. I cannot even begin to answer that question. I can tell you the most enjoyable concert I have ever played was in London 1999 because both my parents were there to see me play. And it was only the 2nd time I had ever played in England as a solo artist, not just part of a band. Because my dad had encouraged me to play music as a child, I was happy to show him that his efforts had paid off!
6. What is the best concert you have ever attended?
The Who at the Dunstable Civic auditorium in England around 1971. The original band with Keith Moon on drums. They were in their heyday!
7. Do you have an all-time favourite song or album?
Secret Story - album by Pat Metheny. Such depth, such emotion, such beauty.
8. What musician would you still most like to work with?
Dolly Parton - I would play Jolene and she could sing it. Will never happen but we can dream can’t we!
9. If you weren't a musician what would you be?
A forensic scientist whose work you would be able to see on the HLN TV show Forensic Files.
10. What is your favourite thing about Vancouver?
Stanley Park!
