WAVE 98.3 presents a Canadian exclusive sneak peak of the documentary "Smooth World" - an inside look at the world of smooth jazz, its fans, and its hero, Dave Koz.
It's a special afternoon event at Blue Frog Studios in White Rock, as we play back the film, and then move into a Q & A with the director/producer Mickey Duzyj and....Dave Koz!

Here's the story:
The once-maligned world of Smooth Jazz has evolved into a vibrant, joy-filled underground movement with a fiercely loyal following. As its artists and fans band together, a new generation of leaders emerges to carry the Smooth World into the future.
Following its commercial heyday, Smooth Jazz lives on - not as a relic, but as a thriving musical scene built around great musicianship, sophisticated grooves and an audience that knows exactly what it likes. Saxophones shimmer, guitars glide, and somewhere beneath the sequins, a surprisingly diverse and welcoming musical world is flourishing.
But all’s not well.
With leader Dave Koz temporarily sidelined by his complicated relationship with the word “smooth,” the clock is ticking. The movement needs a new champion - someone who can introduce the music to a younger generation, expand the tribe and ensure that the Smooth World doesn’t just survive, but thrives for years to come.
