
Ten Questions for Paul Brown
1. How old were you when you first started playing music?
I started on drums at age 4. My uncle was a pro drummer and I took
lessons from age 4 to 15 every week.
2. Who was/is your biggest musical inspiration?
I would have to go with my parents. On every level they influenced me .
I would go to the studio with them almost daily to record vocals. My
dad also did arrangements for vocal groups, so at home it was a
constant while growing up.
3. Where do you make your home?
I was born in LA and have lived there my whole life. Now I'm in
Sherman Oaks which is about 5 minutes from where I grew up.
4. Do you have any pets?
Always been a dog guy. Right now we have a huge golden retriever
named Sammy.
5. What is the best concert/gig you have ever done?
I do a show on Memorial Day every year with Robbie Krieger from The
Doors and Kenny Grande of Little Feat. It's always fun and a musical
highlight. I've also been doing shows with Larry Carlton this year,
and that's really special for me too.
6. What is the best concert you have ever attended?
I'm a "dead head" and in the 70's attended many of their live shows.
7. Do you have an all-time favourite song or album?
Beatles White Album is up there at the top.
8. What musician would you still most like to work with?
George Benson - I've worked with him as a producer, but I'd like to
play guitar with him.
9. If you weren't a musician what would you be?
No idea, hopefully won't have to find out.
10. What is your favourite thing about Vancouver?
