National Indigenous History Month

June is National Indigenous History Month in Canada while June 21 is National Indigenous Peoples Day.

The occasion coincides with the summer solstice and comes with opportunities
to learn more about the traditions of First Nations, Métis and Inuit communities.

At WAVE 98.3 we acknowledge that we broadcast from the unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations. We invite you to join us in recognizing the deep and enduring connections Indigenous communities have to this land.

How you can take part in National Indigenous History Month

You can learn about First Nations, Inuit and Métis experiences by reading about their stories, traditions and cultures.

It can be as simple as reading a book, watching a movie or listening to music from Indigenous artists.
