At Blue Frog Studios on Friday February 27, the room filled early and stayed locked in.
“Lennon & McCartney: In Their Own Words and Music” is a two-man show, and that’s the point. Michael Sicoly and Mick Dalla-Vee walked out with guitars, a few stories, and a stack of songs most of us have known for decades.
They didn’t try to dress like The Beatles. No wigs. No accents. Just vocals, tight harmonies, and the writing itself. The set moved between radio staples and deeper cuts, with short bits of background about who wrote what and why. The talking never dragged. It set up the next tune and got out of the way.
Blue Frog’s sound did the rest. Every acoustic run was clear. When the two voices met, you could hear the blend, not just the volume. A few people sang along under their breath. A few didn’t bother keeping it quiet.
Host Wayne Cox kept the pace moving and let the room settle where it needed to. Ninety minutes later, the crowd filed out into the White Rock night still humming.
