1. How old were you when you first started singing?
I practically came out of the womb dancing and singing lol. I used to joke a lot for my family before I realized I had any talent. I was 6 years old when my uncle threatened to put his war ridden feet on me if I didn't be still and sing for real. I then began to sing Whitney Houston's "The Greatest Love of All" and from that moment I knew I'd sing for the rest of my life. Then followed drums, piano, and flute.
2. Who was/is your biggest musical inspiration?
I have several for different artists but hands down Whitney Houston. I've always admired the duality in her voice. The ability to be soft yet powerful, her ability to deliver a song no matter how amazing her voice was...you could tell it was always about the song.
3. Where do you make your home?
I'm born and raised in Houston, Tx but currently reside right outside of Los Angeles, CA
4. Do you have any pets?
I do I do and absolutely love my crazy dog whose name is Leroy...yep Leroy Brown the baddest dog in town. He's a Pitbull mixed with Weimaraner. He's awesome
5. What is the best concert/gig you have ever done?
Seabreeze Jazz Festival. I've played in front of hundreds of thousands as a background singer to the stars touring the world, but Seabreeze was my largest crowd as Erin Stevenson the artist. I was their "Rising Star" and it was a moment in my career that I'd prayed about that became a reality. The crowd was massive, electric even. My nerves were through the roof lol BUT it was all I ever dreamed. A moment I'll never forget.
6. What is the best concert you have ever attended?
Justin Timberlake's 2020 concert. I know he's pop, but he's also a musician and most people forget that. The music and arrangements were mind blowing, The stage and graphics and production were next level and it was simply an experience from top to bottom.
7. Do you have an all-time favourite song or album?
Ohhh can I give you 3 albums lol? One is Incognito 100 Degrees and Rising, Dave Koz Saxophonic, and Jamiroquai Traveling Without Moving. I don't really have an all-time favourite but I think that's because I'm a musician at heart and a songwriter so I'd be listing great songs/albums for different reasons all day. BUT the 3 I listed were the first ones that came to mind that I STILL listen to from top to bottom with no skips.
8. What musician would you still most like to work with?
Well it's actually happening...Nathan L. Mitchell. We've been friends in real life for a minute now and he actually produced a record on my last album , it was a cover song BUT I'd like to make an original song with him, get him to sing on it as well, and of course do some shows together (which we just did our first co-show together on the Dave Koz Cruise). He's fresh, performance wise he's a male version of me, and he's AMAZINGLY talented.
9. If you weren't a musician what would you be?
A veterinarian or a radio host. I LOVE animals but my mom said it wasn't the occupation for me because I used to cry if I saw a dead animal in the street... She was right. I'd be too emotionally attached. And everyone knows how much I love to talk hahahahaha and not to mention I'm degreed in Communications.
10. What is your favourite thing about Vancouver?
It's natural beauty and of course THE PEOPLE!!!. Lets face it, Canada and Canadians are just COOL!!!! I love Canada!
