1. How old were you when you first started playing sax?
I was 9 when my mother bought me an alto sax that came with lessons

2. Who was/is your biggest musical inspiration?
I have so many inspirations from Charlie Parker, Sonny Stit and Michael Blecker to vocalists like Stevie Wonder and Luther Vandross.

3. Where do you make your home?
My home is now Toronto but I’m originally from Detroit

4. Do you have any pets?
Not anymore. I had a beautiful British Golden Retriever named Shaka for 14 yrs.

5. What is the best concert/gig you have ever done?
Opening for Stevie Wonder in the late 60’s.

6. What is the best concert you have ever attended?
Sly and the Family Stone in the early 70’s

7. Do you have an all-time favourite song?
I have so many, it’s so hard to choose.

8. What musician would you still most like to work with?
Miles Davies

9. If you weren't a musician what would you be?
A robot salesman

10. What is your favourite thing about Vancouver
I’ve really never been - only at the airport going to Hong Kong.
It must be wonderful because the people are wonderful.
